Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram and home to the grand new Ram Mandir, is 630 km from Delhi — about 9 to 10 hours via the Lucknow-Agra Expressway. Since the consecration of the Ram Mandir in January 2024, Ayodhya has become one of India's most visited spiritual destinations.

A 2-day Ayodhya trip from Delhi is extremely affordable because every temple, ghat, and religious site is completely free to visit. The Ram Mandir, Hanuman Garhi, Kanak Bhawan, and the Saryu River ghats charge no entry fee. The main expense is transportation — at ₹6,930 one-way for a sedan, split among 3-4 pilgrims it becomes very reasonable.

The city is rapidly developing with new hotels, roads, and facilities to accommodate the surge in visitors. Budget dharamshalas start at ₹300/night while modern hotels range from ₹2,000-12,000. Local food is simple, vegetarian, and very affordable — most meals cost ₹100-200 at restaurants near the temple complex.

For the most meaningful experience, attend the evening Saryu Aarti and visit Ram Mandir during early morning hours when crowds are thinner. The Deepotsav festival during Diwali — when lakhs of diyas are lit along Ram ki Paidi — is spectacular but requires advance hotel booking.
