Be Prepared

What to Pack & Altitude Tips

Warm Layers

Even in May–June, temperatures at Kedarnath/Badrinath drop near 0–5°C at night. Carry a heavy jacket, thermals, woollen cap and gloves.

Rain Protection

A waterproof poncho/raincoat and trek shoes with grip are essential — mountain weather changes within minutes.

Medicines

Carry personal medication, Diamox (consult doctor) for altitude, ORS, painkillers, and a basic first-aid kit. Kedarnath sits at 3,583 m.

Light Trek Gear

A small daypack, walking stick, torch and power bank for the 16 km Kedarnath and 5 km Yamunotri treks.

Documents

Original photo ID, Char Dham registration QR/slip, and medical fitness certificate for senior citizens.

Cash

ATMs and network are unreliable beyond Guptkashi/Uttarkashi — keep enough cash for ponies, prasad and meals.
