Registration & Biometric Steps

Free with this package — we handle the paperwork for you

1

Register online

Register every pilgrim free on the official Uttarakhand portal (registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in) or the Tourist Care Uttarakhand app before travel. Mandatory for all four Dhams in 2026.

2

Get the Yatra QR/slip

Download the Char Dham Yatra registration slip with a unique QR code for each traveller. Keep a printout and a phone copy.

3

Biometric verification

Complete physical/biometric verification at Haridwar, Rishikesh or Dehradun registration counters before ascending. Our driver guides you to the nearest counter.

4

Medical fitness (seniors)

Pilgrims above 75, or those with heart/respiratory conditions, should carry a recent medical fitness certificate. Health check-up points operate at Sonprayag and Gaurikund for Kedarnath.

5

Carry originals

Always keep an original government photo ID (Aadhaar/Passport/Voter ID) — it is checked with the registration QR at multiple points.

What to Pack & Altitude Tips

Warm Layers

Even in May–June, temperatures at Kedarnath/Badrinath drop near 0–5°C at night. Carry a heavy jacket, thermals, woollen cap and gloves.

Rain Protection

A waterproof poncho/raincoat and trek shoes with grip are essential — mountain weather changes within minutes.

Medicines

Carry personal medication, Diamox (consult doctor) for altitude, ORS, painkillers, and a basic first-aid kit. Kedarnath sits at 3,583 m.

Light Trek Gear

A small daypack, walking stick, torch and power bank for the 16 km Kedarnath and 5 km Yamunotri treks.

Documents

Original photo ID, Char Dham registration QR/slip, and medical fitness certificate for senior citizens.

Cash

ATMs and network are unreliable beyond Guptkashi/Uttarkashi — keep enough cash for ponies, prasad and meals.

Best Time to Travel

Late Apr – JunPeak Season

Kapat opening, pleasant days (15–25°C), cold nights. Best darshan weather but heaviest crowds — book vehicles early.

Jul – AugMonsoon (Avoid)

Heavy rain, landslides and frequent road closures in Garhwal. Not recommended for elderly or first-timers.

Sep – OctPost-Monsoon (Ideal)

Clear skies, washed-green valleys, fewer crowds and stable roads — the best photography and comfort window.

NovClosing Season

Temples close around Diwali/Bhai Dooj. Very cold; only early November is viable before kapat closes.
