June to October via Manali (Rohtang Pass route). Year-round via Shimla-Kinnaur route (though risky in winter). July-September is the peak season.
Spiti has some of India's most challenging roads with river crossings, high passes, and unpaved sections. SUV is essential for safety and comfort.
Spiti requires basic fitness and altitude tolerance (12,000-15,000 ft). If you can walk 2-3 km without breathlessness, you're fine. We plan acclimatization days.
BSNL has the best coverage in Spiti, but signal is limited. Kaza has basic connectivity. Enjoy the digital detox! Inform family about limited connectivity in advance.
Yes! The classic circuit is Chandigarh → Shimla → Kinnaur → Kaza → Manali → Chandigarh (or reverse). This requires 7-8 days and covers both entry routes.
