Complete Guide to Pushkar Trip Cost

Pushkar, one of the oldest cities in India and home to the world's only Brahma Temple, is 400 km from Delhi — a comfortable 6 to 7-hour drive through Jaipur and Ajmer. This tiny holy town around the sacred Pushkar Lake offers a unique blend of spirituality, desert charm, and backpacker culture.

A 3-day Pushkar trip from Delhi is wonderfully affordable. Pushkar is a small, walkable town where most attractions — Brahma Temple, the 52 ghats, and Rangji Temple — are free. The main street is lined with cafes, handicraft shops, and guesthouses, all at very reasonable prices.

With Triveni Cabs at ₹11/km, the round trip costs ₹8,800 for a sedan. The drive through Rajasthan is pleasant, and you can easily visit Ajmer's famous Dargah Sharif (15 km from Pushkar) using your cab. The Ajmer-Pushkar road through the Ana Sagar hills is itself scenic.

The Pushkar Camel Fair in November is a spectacular event — thousands of camels, horses, and cattle are traded while cultural performances and competitions take place. If visiting during the fair, book accommodation 1-2 months in advance as prices triple and availability is scarce. Outside fair season, Pushkar is a tranquil, almost meditative experience.
