Sunrise: Gate Timings, Sun Angle, Marble Pink-to-White Shift
Sunrise entry begins 30 min before official sunrise. East gate opens first. Photography window: 5:45-7:00 AM (winter), 5:15-6:30 AM (summer). The marble starts pale pink, shifts through soft cream, then white as the sun climbs. Total colour transition: 60-90 minutes.
Crowds: ~1,200 visitors enter in the first hour. Quieter than any other slot.
Sunset: Gate Timings, Sun Angle, Gold Tone
Last entry 30 min before sunset. Photography window: 5:30-6:30 PM (winter), 6:30-7:30 PM (summer). Marble takes on a warm gold, especially the side facing the setting sun. The fountains in the foreground catch light beautifully.
Crowds: ~3,500 visitors in the last 90 min — significantly more chaotic than sunrise.

Sunrise has roughly 1/3 the visitor density of sunset. If your photos require minimal people in frame, sunrise is decisively better.
Fog Risk: Dec-Jan Sunrise
December-January sunrises get fogged out roughly 1 in 5 mornings. The fog burns off by 8:30-9 AM but the photo window is gone. Backup: wait 90 min for clearance, or visit Mehtab Bagh after-Taj for an alternate angle.
