Tips for Your Hariyali Teej Trip
The exact 2026 Teej procession dates are announced by Rajasthan Tourism closer to the festival - confirm them on the official tourism calendar before locking hotels, and call us once you know
The procession moves through the Old City and roads around Tripolia Bazaar and Chhoti Chaupar are closed to vehicles for several hours - your driver will drop you at the cordon and you walk in
Rajasthan Tourism sets up a paid viewing gallery at Tripolia Bazaar for the procession - worth arranging in advance if you want a seated view rather than a crowd position
Teej is a monsoon festival, which is exactly why Jaipur and the Amber approach look their best in August - carry an umbrella and expect wet stretches
About Hariyali Teej at Jaipur, Rajasthan
Hariyali Teej is Rajasthan's monsoon festival, and Jaipur marks it with a royal procession through the Old City - a palanquin carrying the idol of Goddess Parvati leaving the City Palace and moving through Tripolia Bazaar, escorted by elephants, camels, folk dancers and the Rajasthan police band. It is one of the few times the Old City's streets are given over entirely to a procession, and the monsoon greenery around Amber and Jal Mahal is the best it gets all year.
One honest caveat on dates: Teej follows the lunar calendar and the exact 2026 procession dates are announced by Rajasthan Tourism closer to the festival, usually a few weeks ahead. It falls in August 2026. We are not going to guess a day for you - check the official Rajasthan Tourism calendar before you book hotels, then call us and we will hold a vehicle for whatever dates it lands on.
