Independence Day 2026 falls on Saturday, 15 August, which gives Delhi a clean two-day Aug 15-16 weekend and no need to burn a leave day. It is short - so the trips that actually work are the ones inside a five-hour drive: Neemrana at 130 km, Agra at 230 km, Rishikesh and Haridwar at about 240 km, Jim Corbett at 250 km, Dehradun and Mussoorie at 280 km, and Kasauli or Shimla at 250 to 350 km if you are willing to start very early.
