Jaipur Airport to Mount Abu is 490 km and eight and a half to nine hours, south on NH48 through Ajmer and Pali to Abu Road, and then the 27 km climb up to the plateau. For an afternoon arrival at Jaipur, breaking the journey is the sensible plan.
That final climb is the part people underestimate. It is 27 km of continuous hairpin bends and takes a full hour whatever a map estimates, and it is well surfaced but relentless. Passengers prone to travel sickness should sit forward.
