The qawwali performances in the dargah courtyard are soul-stirring, especially on Thursday evenings. The Buland Darwaza entrance, Akbar's Mosque, and the massive deg (cauldrons) where food is cooked for pilgrims are architectural marvels. From Ajmer, drive 14 km over the scenic Nag Pahar (Snake Mountain) pass to Pushkar, home to the only Brahma Temple in the world and one of India's oldest cities.
