The Journey

How long is the drive to Mussoorie?

Flying into Delhi and heading up to Mussoorie? The transfer runs 290 km from any IGI terminal, through Meerut and Roorkee to Dehradun and then up the 35 km climb to the ridge. Your driver tracks the flight and meets you at the arrival gate, which matters on a journey this long because a delayed flight otherwise means arriving on the hill road after dark.

Allow seven to eight hours door to door. The plains stretch to Dehradun is four and a half to five hours on good highway; the final climb is 35 km and takes well over an hour whatever a map estimates. A morning arrival at Delhi is far better than an evening one for this route.

One thing to know before you land: the Mall road in Mussoorie is pedestrian for much of its length, so the car drops at Picture Palace or Library depending on where you are staying and the last stretch is walked. Tell us the hotel and we will plan the drop accordingly.

What do travellers ask about this airport transfer?

Seven to eight hours for 290 km. Delhi to Dehradun is four and a half to five hours on NH334 and NH7, and the final 35 km climb from Dehradun to Mussoorie takes over an hour on its own. Night driving on the hill section is slower and we would rather not plan it if your flight allows.
