August 2026 gives Delhi NCR two clean long weekends. Independence Day falls on Saturday 15 August, making Aug 15-16 a two-day break, and Raksha Bandhan lands on Friday 28 August for a full three-day Aug 28-30 weekend. Both are short-notice, short-radius windows — which is exactly what a 2-3 day cab getaway is built for.

The realistic radius from Delhi is about 400 km each way. That puts Rishikesh (230 km), Jim Corbett (250 km), Nainital (300 km), Shimla (350 km), Mussoorie (280 km), Agra (230 km), Jaipur (270 km) and Neemrana (120 km) all in range. August is monsoon, so the hills are at their greenest and the plains are cooler than July — but wet roads, slower driving and occasional landslide delays on hill stretches are part of the deal. We would rather say that upfront than promise a schedule the weather will not honour.

Fares follow our standard rates: sedan (Dzire/Etios) ₹11/km, Ertiga ₹15/km, Innova Crysta ₹18/km, and 12-seater Tempo Traveller ₹20/km with no one-way discount on large vehicles. Outstation trips bill a 250-300 km per day minimum, and hill routes add a driver night-halt allowance of ₹300-500 per night. A 2-day Agra or Neemrana run starts around ₹5,900 in a sedan; a 3-day Shimla or Nainital trip runs higher.
