Plan a Chandigarh group pickup before choosing seats

Passenger count is only one part of choosing a tempo traveller. Share the bags, pickup points and complete itinerary before confirming a vehicle.

Choose one meeting point or list every pickup

For a group arriving across Chandigarh, Mohali or Panchkula, decide whether everyone can meet at one place. Otherwise list each pickup and the order, including any airport or station arrival, so collection time is included in the travel plan.

Check luggage as well as passenger seats

Tell the booking team how many adults, children and large bags will travel. Ask for the actual vehicle configuration and luggage arrangement; a seat count alone does not guarantee room for the same number of suitcases.

Quote the complete outstation itinerary

For a hill trip or multi-day outing, provide every overnight stop and the return location. Confirm minimum billable distance, extra kilometres, driver arrangements, tolls, parking and applicable permits for the selected vehicle rather than comparing headline per-kilometre rates alone.

Hiring a group vehicle in Chandigarh

Where the group gets on

A planned city on a sector grid, with wide roads and real parking. A 26-seater can collect from a sector address without any of the manoeuvring that makes a pickup in Varanasi or Jaipur an exercise in itself. If a group has a choice of where to assemble, this is the easiest of the fifteen.

What the roads out allow

This is where the hills begin, and the seating decision is real from here on. Shimla, Dalhousie at 310 km, Chail at 110 — all of it is climbing on roads with hairpins that a longer vehicle takes in more than one movement. Amritsar at 230 km is the exception, flat the whole way.

What groups here travel for

The easiest city on this list to move a group through, and largely a departure point rather than a destination. Corporate groups heading into Himachal, and families and friends setting off for Shimla, Manali, Dharamshala or Amritsar.

Worth knowing before you book

A group leaving Chandigarh for Himachal is crossing a state boundary within the first hour, which means the vehicle needs the right permit for Himachal Pradesh. On the Punjab side the same journey is unremarkable; the paperwork is what differs, and it is what gets checked at the barrier.

The vehicle

What a Tempo Traveller is, and who books one

The Tempo Traveller is the backbone of Indian group travel. Force Motors' proven Traveller platform seats 12 to 26 passengers in air-conditioned comfort, with push-back seats, a music system, charging points and an experienced driver included. Whether it is a Delhi–Manali family holiday, a Haridwar pilgrimage, a Rajasthan wedding baraat or a corporate offsite, the right seater tempo keeps the whole group together for a fraction of what multiple cars would cost. Outstation trips start at ₹23/km with transparent, itemised pricing — no surge, no hidden charges.

For groups of 8 or more, a 12 or 17-seater Tempo Traveller is almost always cheaper than two cars — and dramatically more comfortable on hill routes like Delhi to Manali where the road bends every 30 seconds.

More about hiring a tempo traveller in Chandigarh

What is the drive time a Chandigarh hire?
6 hr for 250 km. Add half an hour for one proper stop. A 6 AM start out of Chandigarh is worth more than any shortcut, because the hour you save is at the congested end.
How early should we set off from Chandigarh?
Between 5 and 6 AM, which clears Chandigarh before the build-up. On 250 km and 6 hr the hour gained at the start is the hour you are not driving tired at the far end. Our drivers would rather start early than make it up later.
How far ahead should I book Chandigarh?
Call or WhatsApp +91 7668570551, or use the form on this page. You get the fare, the vehicle and the driver's details confirmed before the journey rather than on the day. Same-day bookings are taken subject to a car being free; for an early-morning pickup the night before is safer, because that is when the available cars get allocated.
Who will be driving us a Chandigarh hire?
A verified commercial driver who knows this route, in an insured, GPS-tracked vehicle from our own fleet. Long-distance trips are monitored by the operations desk while they run. If something goes wrong mid-journey there is a person to call, not a form to fill in.
Do you issue a tax invoice for Chandigarh?
Yes. Mention it when you book and give us the GSTIN, and a tax invoice is issued against the booking. Account customers can have invoices consolidated monthly rather than one per trip. A printed receipt is given at the end of the journey in every case, GST or not.
What size tempo traveller do we need?
Count the luggage, not just the people. A group that fits a vehicle's seat count exactly does not fit it once everyone has a bag — which is why the published capacities give a range rather than a single number, and why the next size up is usually the right call for a long journey. The fare chart on this page lists every size we run with its per-km rate, and the rate is what the chart says rather than a figure quoted separately.
Is a one-way charter cheaper?
No, and this is the one place the usual logic reverses. A chartered tempo traveller returns to base whether or not you are in it, so a one-way charter is billed as a return journey. There is no one-way discount to offer on it. For a genuine one-way where the group is small enough, a cab or an SUV is the cheaper product and we will say so.
What is not included in the Chandigarh fare?
Four things, all billed at actual rather than estimated: tolls, parking, any state permit the route needs, and the driver night allowance at ₹300 per night if the trip keeps the driver away overnight. Monument and park entry fees are separate too where a trip includes them. Everything else — fuel, the driver, AC, and the vehicle — is inside the quoted rate, and the quote is confirmed before the booking rather than at the end of the journey.
What is the cancellation policy on Chandigarh?
The published policy, which is the one that applies. Cancel your Chandigarh booking 7 or more days before the journey and the advance is refunded in full. Cancel 3 to 6 days before and half is returned. Inside 72 hours there is no refund, and the same applies to a no-show. Eligible refunds are processed within 5-7 working days to the original payment method, and the full terms are at /cancellation-and-refund-policy. If we cancel — a breakdown, a driver emergency, a road closed by weather — you get everything back, or an alternative vehicle or date, whichever you prefer.
Is the toll included in the Chandigarh fare?
Charged at actual, with the receipts available, so you pay what the road charged rather than a number we estimated. That is deliberate: toll rates change, expressway stretches are priced by distance rather than per barrier, and a quoted toll is out of date before it is useful. Where we have researched a corridor's plazas in detail, the toll-cost page for that route lists them with car and SUV figures.
