The lanes around Laxman Jhula and Tapovan are narrow and the bridges are foot crossings, so a group staying on that side is collected from the nearest road that takes the vehicle. The rafting put-in points upstream are a drive from town on the gorge road, and that drive is part of the day whether or not anyone mentioned it.

What the roads out allow

Flat to Haridwar and Dehradun. Everything north is the Himalaya, and on the gorge road toward Devprayag a long vehicle is working harder than a short one. For an adventure group the vehicle only has to reach the camp; for a yatra group it has to keep going for days.

Which charges are billed separately on Rishikesh?
Four things, all billed at actual rather than estimated: tolls, parking, any state permit the route needs, and the driver night allowance at ₹300 per night if the trip keeps the driver away overnight. Monument and park entry fees are separate too where a trip includes them. Everything else — fuel, the driver, AC, and the vehicle — is inside the quoted rate, and the quote is confirmed before the booking rather than at the end of the journey.
What happens if I cancel the Rishikesh booking?
The published policy, which is the one that applies. Cancel your Rishikesh booking 7 or more days before the journey and the advance is refunded in full. Cancel 3 to 6 days before and half is returned. Inside 72 hours there is no refund, and the same applies to a no-show.
