The walled city is the problem. The gates and the lanes inside them — around Hawa Mahal, Johari Bazaar, Tripolia — will not take a long-wheelbase vehicle through, and the approach to Amber Fort is congested enough that the drop point matters. Hotels outside the wall are straightforward; a haveli inside it is not.

What the roads out allow

Open highway to Ahmedabad at 655 km, Bikaner at 330 and Gurgaon at 250. All of it is plains driving where any seating size works. The Aravalli stretches toward Udaipur and Mount Abu are the only places the length of the vehicle starts to matter.

How late can I cancel Jaipur?

Is a one-way charter cheaper?
No, and this is the one place the usual logic reverses. A chartered tempo traveller returns to base whether or not you are in it, so a one-way charter is billed as a return journey. There is no one-way discount to offer on it. For a genuine one-way where the group is small enough, a cab or an SUV is the cheaper product and we will say so.
Are there extras on top of the Jaipur fare?
Four things, all billed at actual rather than estimated: tolls, parking, any state permit the route needs, and the driver night allowance at ₹300 per night if the trip keeps the driver away overnight. Monument and park entry fees are separate too where a trip includes them. Everything else — fuel, the driver, AC, and the vehicle — is inside the quoted rate, and the quote is confirmed before the booking rather than at the end of the journey.
