Har Ki Pauri and the ghats around it cannot be reached by a vehicle of this size, and during the evening aarti the whole area is dense with people on foot. Groups are dropped back from the ghats and walk in. Getting out afterwards is slower than getting in, because several thousand people leave at once.

What the roads out allow

Rishikesh and Dehradun are both short, flat runs. Mussoorie at 90 km climbs. The Char Dham roads beyond are a different category of driving altogether and the vehicle choice there is an operational decision rather than a comfort one.
