Planning a weekend out of Ranthambore

Ranthambore is a national park with a town, Sawai Madhopur, attached to it, and almost everybody who comes here comes for the safaris and leaves. That is a reasonable way to use it and it misses what is around.

The park sits in the gap between the Jaipur road and the Hadoti country to the south, which means Bundi and Kota are closer from here than from anywhere people usually start, and Bundi in particular is the most underrated town in Rajasthan.

Return fares come from the published round-trip rate card rather than being quoted by hand.
