Agra Full-Day Tour with a licensed guide
The whole Mughal sequence in a day, in the order it was built: Akbar’s capital at Fatehpur Sikri, Akbar’s fort in Agra, and Shah Jahan’s tomb for his wife. Taken that way round it is a story rather than three stops, and it also puts the forty-kilometre drive at the start of the day when the road is clear and the heat has not arrived.

What the full day, 8 hours looks like
One full day, chronologically
One full day, chronologically
- 06:00
Hotel pickup
Guide and car together. The plan below runs against the traffic and ahead of the heat.
- 07:15
Fatehpur Sikri
An hour out. The Buland Darwaza, the Panch Mahal, Jodha Bai’s palace, and the Diwan-i-Khas with the single carved pillar where Akbar held his inter-faith debates. One ₹50 or ₹610 ticket covers the complex.
- 10:30
Drive back to Agra
An hour. Most itineraries stop at a marble-inlay workshop on this stretch; say if you would rather not.
- 12:00
Lunch on Fatehabad Road
Paid separately.
- 13:30
Agra Fort
Two hours. Akbar built it, Shah Jahan refaced it in marble, Aurangzeb imprisoned his father in it.
- 15:30
Taj Mahal
Afternoon light on the west face and a thinner crowd than the morning. Two hours inside.
- 17:45
Mehtab Bagh, October to March
In the winter months the sun sets late enough for the garden across the river. In summer the day ends at the Taj gate.
- 18:30
Drop at hotel or station
The 8 hr / 80 km package covers Agra city plus the Fatehpur Sikri run.
Closed days, and how we plan round them
The Taj Mahal closes on Friday. Fatehpur Sikri and Agra Fort are open seven days, so a Friday booking runs the same day without the Taj and we will say so when you book.

The guide
Who comes with you, and how to check them
A Regional Level Guide licence is issued by the Ministry of Tourism after a written examination, an interview and a training course run through the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management. It is issued for a tourism region, not for the whole country, and it names the foreign languages the holder is examined in.
