Ranthambore National Park, Rajasthan

6 to 7 days · Delhi · Agra · Jaipur · Ranthambore

The Golden Triangle and Ranthambore, guided

The Golden Triangle with two nights at Ranthambore on the end — the one add-on to this circuit that is a genuinely different kind of day rather than another fort. Ranthambore is about 180 kilometres from Jaipur, it is one of the better places in India to see a wild tiger, and the park has its own rules: safaris run in fixed morning and afternoon slots in park vehicles with park naturalists, and permits are issued in advance.

Day by day

6 to 7 days, laid out

Start times are written against the monuments’ own opening hours rather than rounded, which is why some of them look early. The plan is flexible on the day — this is the version that works if you leave it alone.

Leg 1 of 3

Days 1–5 — the Golden Triangle

  1. Days 1–2

    Delhi

Qutub Minar and Mehrauli, Humayun’s Tomb, the Red Fort, Jama Masjid and Chandni Chowk.

  2. Days 3–4

    Agra

Agra Fort, sunrise at the Taj Mahal, the Baby Taj and Mehtab Bagh. A Northern Region guide covers Delhi and Agra both.

  3. Day 5

Agra to Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri

Akbar’s abandoned capital on the way, then into Jaipur. The guide changes at the Rajasthan border.

Leg 2 of 3

Day 6 — Jaipur, then on to Ranthambore

  1. 08:00

    Amber Fort at opening

Two and a half hours, then the City Palace and Jantar Mantar if the afternoon allows.

  2. Afternoon

Drive to Ranthambore, about 180 km

Three to four hours to Sawai Madhopur. Overnight at the park.

Leg 3 of 3

Day 7 — Ranthambore safari, then Jaipur or Delhi

  1. 06:00

    Morning safari

In a park vehicle with a park naturalist, on a permit booked in advance. Zone allocation is done by the park and cannot be chosen.

  2. Midday

    Ranthambore Fort, optional

A tenth-century hill fort inside the reserve, and a UNESCO site as one of the Hill Forts of Rajasthan. Your Rajasthan guide can take you up it.

  3. Afternoon

    Second safari, or drive on

An afternoon slot if you want a second chance at a sighting, or the drive back to Jaipur or Delhi.

Closed days, and how we plan round them

Ranthambore’s core zones close for the monsoon, roughly July to September, and the park sets the dates each year. The Taj closes on Friday and the Red Fort on Monday. Give us your dates first and we will tell you honestly whether the safari half of this trip is available at all.

Guide licences are issued per tourism region, so this itinerary changes guide at the Rajasthan border — a Northern Region guide for Delhi and Agra, a Rajasthan-licensed guide in Jaipur. The car and the driver stay with you for the whole trip. That is both the licensed way to run it and the better tour: each guide is working on their own monuments rather than reciting a script about somewhere else.

What it costs

How this one is priced

Why there is no package price on this page

Two parts of this trip are not ours to price. The Golden Triangle half runs on the published package — ₹32,999 for 5–6 days, innova crysta — plus ₹1,500 a day for a licensed English-speaking guide. The Ranthambore leg adds roughly 400 kilometres, which bills at the published per-km rate, and the safari permits, park vehicle and naturalist are set by the forest department and change.

So you get one written total with each of those lines shown separately, rather than a rounded package figure that hides which part moved. Send your dates and it comes back the same day.

What the safari itself costs

Ranthambore safari charges per person per drive
Safari vehicleIndian visitorForeign visitor
Jeep / Gypsy — 6 seats₹1,650 – ₹2,000₹3,050 – ₹4,000
Canter — 20 seats₹1,000 – ₹1,400₹2,450 – ₹3,000
Full jeep, booked privatelyabout ₹12,000about ₹24,000

Per person, per drive. The lower figure is the forest department’s published rate; the higher is what a booking costs once the operator’s service charge and GST are on it. Driver and park naturalist are included in both. The park raised its entry fee by 10% on 1 April 2026 and revises it annually. Read October 2026; we re-check before quoting rather than relying on this page.

The fare, stated plainly

What is in the price and what is not

What the fare covers

  • An AC vehicle with an experienced driver for the whole trip, the same car and driver throughout
  • All fuel, tolls, parking, interstate taxes and the driver’s allowance and night charges
  • A Ministry-of-Tourism licensed guide on each sightseeing day, in the language you book
  • The guide’s licence card photographed and sent before anything is paid
  • Door-to-door pickup and drop, and a day-wise plan you can change as you go
  • 24-hour contact on the trip, with a number that reaches a person

What it does not

  • Hotels and meals. We can arrange the hotels on request and will quote them separately
  • Monument entry tickets, paid at the gate — the figures are on each city’s guide page
  • Camera and video charges where a monument levies them
  • Anything beyond the package distance, at the published per-km rate
  • Guide and driver gratuity, customary but never compulsory

The guide

Who comes with you, and how to check them

A Regional Level Guide licence is issued by the Ministry of Tourism after a written examination, an interview and a training course run through the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management. It is issued for a tourism region, not for the whole country, and it names the foreign languages the holder is examined in.
