Stops along the way break up the long drive nicely. The Murthal GT Road dhabas (Sukhdev, Amrik Sukhdev) are the go-to breakfast stop for butter-loaded aloo parathas. For a unique break, the Pinjore (Yadavindra) Gardens at the Himachal-Haryana border — a 17th-century Mughal terraced garden — takes 30 minutes. On the hill section, the Timber Trail ropeway at Parwanoo, the Kasauli turn-off for a quick ridge view, and the Barog tunnel photo stop are all popular.
